About Us

Our Mission

WCVEF educates, motivates and provides capacity for Wyoming citizens and conservation organizations to protect and improve our land, air, water and health of our communities through civic action. WCVEF is headquartered in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Our History

WCVEF was formed when a diverse group of sportsmen and conservationists but aside their differences and came to the table to focus on commonalities. It was apparent to them that conservation policies were not being effectively pursued at the legislator. A disconnect existed between the voter and the elected official and this gap was in need of closure. Relationships had to be built and repaired between these two groups in order to have policies developed that protected the Wyoming way of life. The Wyoming Conservation Voters Education Fund sprung from this vision and has been driven to ensure that connections between elected officials and voters are cultivated and fostered to support and encourage conservation policy that ensures our way of life is something we will pass on to many generations to come.

How We Run

WCVEF is structured as a non-profit organization, designated by the Internal Revenue Service as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.

Our staff and seven-member, statewide board of directors raise funds from individuals, foundations and special events and use those resources carefully to deliver information to the voters directly to help them make informed judgments about government policies and civic debates over conservation issues. Donations are fully tax-deductible.
